Roam baskets are hand-woven in Morocco using authentic techniques and 100% natural materials.

 

Palm straw baskets are both sturdy and flexible.  The baskets are woven by artisans near Casablanca and all leather work is sewn by women working at home, providing essential extra income whilst caring for their families.  Roam baskets are responsibly traded, ensuring a fair price to the makers and travelling to UK by sea and road.

The baskets are designed  in Devon, UK., by Caro Stephenson,  then decorated by Caro and a small team. Most designs include hand-painted illustrations.  All elements of the designs are painted, sewn or glued by hand.

 

Handles are made using real leather. Other materials include hand-made pom poms (made in UK), acrylic paint and permanent inks.
